Summer’s Biggest Meteor Shower Is Coming

Photo: David Magro

Look up to the heavens on the evening of Saturday 9th December as a meteor shower is set to take place with over 120 meteors expected every hour. Campers at Glenworth Valley are in for a treat as Glenworth Valley is one of the best places to catch the spectacular as our sky isn’t light-polluted.

2017 Exposure Photographer Of The Year David Magro will be leading a free night-sky photography workshop exclusively to campers at Glenworth Valley from 7pm on Saturday 9th December.

This workshop is suitable for amateur photographers of all ages and will demonstrate the skills of night-sky photography, including post-production techniques and your own selfie under a blanket of stars. Local Astronomer Andrew Murrell will also share fascinating stories of the night sky and solar system and will have a giant 12” Dobsonian telescope for an unforgettable view of the amazing meteor show.

Just bring your own DSLR camera, lens and tripod to take part. Camping spots are filling quickly so book early to avoid disappointment.
